Chichibu Imamiya-jinja Shrine has many features, the most recognizable being the image of Kannon on a dragon placed inside a tree, as well as Ryujin-ike (“Dragon God Pond”), where underflow water from Mt. Buko, the symbol of Chichibu, flows up from the ground. There is also Ryujinboku (“Dragon God Tree”), said to be more than 1,000 years old, that is overwhelming in its towering appearance. The shrine that houses the dragon god Ryujin is also known to be a “power spot”. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Seibu Railway Seibu-Chichibu Station, and about a 5-minute walk from Chichibu Railway Ohanabatake Station.
